Want to relax, smell the open hair and hear the gentle sound of a nearby spring? And you are in or looking to be in the Dallas, Texas area? Then look no further than Kidd Park, an unbelievable place of absolute tranquility and stillness. The park features a Japanese-style garden with lush vegetation that will peak all of your senses. The park has a rich history; in fact, many residents of Dallas first took their first splashes of water and learned how to swim in the spring-fed lake that is part of the park.
There are beautiful spots where you can fish, observe nature (nature observation post on site), and when you get tired of that, you can take a long meandering walk through the many trails that make up this lovely park. Just don’t get lost!
There is also a recreation center on-site, first established by Colonel James Kidd for whom the park is named after. It was originally built in 1965 and was subsequently renovated. There is a fitness center as week as a pool that makes up part of the rec center as well as both large and small meeting rooms that are available. And when you start to get hungry during your busy meetings? There is a kitchen right close by for your convenience. Worried about parking? Don’t be. There is always ample parking and easy access to the park and rec center.
Other features include a baseball field and a playground for the kids. Don’t worry, they’ll never get bored! And when they do, just let them run around to their heart’s content on the trails. Oh, and did we mention there is a gymnasium too? Whatever your needs, young and old, there is always something to do at Kidd Park. Just drive there, park, and let everyone have fun!
