Rowlett is a city located specifically in Dallas County in the state of Texas. Thanks to the population census conducted in 2010, it was estimated that the population of this city was 56,199 habitants, and a population density of 1,087.99 habitants per km². Recently, in the year 2019 it is estimated that the total population increased to 67,339 habitants.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, this city has a total area of 51.69 km², of which 0.34% (0.18 km²) is water, and 51.51 km² is dry land.

Short History

The name of this city is thanks to Rowlett Creek, which is a river that flows into Lake Ray Hubbard, this river is very important for the city. One of the first constructions was a post office in 1880. In addition, that post office was named “Morris”, in honor of Austin Morris.

The city developed from 1952 onwards. During that year, the population was 250 habitants. In fact, since 1970, thanks to the completion of Lake Ray Hubbard, several businesses and houses have been built in the city.

The U.S. Census Bureau has even determined that the city of Rowlett ranks as the 8th fastest growing city.
