Mesquite

Mesquite City is the Rodeo Capital of Texas. It is 14.2 miles or 18 minutes away from Dallas City, so if you want to have a little fun in the rodeo, you can easily get to Mesquite within a couple of minutes.

Mesquite Championship Rodeo

Mesquite, being the Rodeo Capital, is home to The Mesquite Championship Rodeo, which is a good place for families and friends to enjoy some good food, atmosphere, and enjoy your time together while watching the show of the rodeo, all for a reasonable price.

Mesquite Arts Center

IF the bright lights and loud atmosphere of the rodeo isn’t for you, then you can head over to the Mesquite Arts Center. It is a 36,700 square foot arts facility that can seat nearly 500 people, it contains a music performance hall and gallery. Art enthusiasts can find sate their thrust for art by viewing collections made by local artists in the Arts Center. You can also enjoy a show at the Mesquite community theater or enjoy some music in the Mesquite Community Band. For people with fancier tastes, there is also a Mesquite Symphony Orchestra.

Mesquite Golf Club

The Mesquite Golf Club offers a golf course that is owned and managed by the local governement of Mesquite. It is at 154-acre, with an 18-hole golf course for both seasoned golfers and beginners. In 2014 the Texas Turfgrass Association named the course Course of the Year.

Parks

The lively community areas of Mesquite are a great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors, with 76 parks that can offer different experiences for the whole family. You can take a peaceful stroll and meet some butterflies in Paschall Park Butterfly trail. Learn about history in the Opal Lawrence Historical Park. If you have kids, then the KidsQuest at Debusk Park is a good place to go. There are a lot of possibilities for outdoor fun and exercise.
