Farmers Branch is a city located in Dallas County, Texas. Thanks to the population census carried out in 2010, it was determined that the total population of this city was 26,616 residents and the population density was 924.53 residents per km². However, it was estimated that in 2019 the total population will increase to 48,158 residents.
Also, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, Farmers Branch has a total area of 30.96 km²; of that total area 1.33% (0.41 km²) is water, and 30.55 km² is dry land.
Short History
Farmers Branch was founded in the early 1850s. In fact, in the year 1842 several people managed to receive land grants in the area of this city. A small community called “Mustang Branch” was even established in 1843. But, years later, Mr. Cochran changed the name of that community to Farmers Branch.
In the year 1916 a beautiful building made of bricks was built. This building was actually the first school of this city. In addition, during the Second World War this city was able to develop without any inconvenience.
It is important to mention that Farmers Branch was incorporated as a city of the state of Texas in the year 1946. During that year elections were held.
