American Airlines Center

The American Airlines Center is one of Dallas’ most popular venues. The arena is home to the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks and NHL’s Dallas Stars, plus it hosts a full array of concerts and other events you can catch throughout the year.

The American Airlines Center is in the heart of downtown Dallas in the Victory Park neighborhood. You can access the venue through the Victory station on the DART Green and Orange Lines and the Trinity Railway Express line.

A BACKGROUND OF THE AAC

The American Airlines Center opened in 2001 as a replacement for Reunion Arena. The building features a distinct brick facade with multiple arches on the outside. The design creates a look similar to an airplane hangar. The main entrance is home to the PNC Plaza, a meeting space for outdoor events before and after games.

The inside features a retractable seating system that helps convert the venue from a basketball court to a hockey rink in moments. The arena also has a center scoreboard with four thirty-foot-wide HD screens. There are also two video boards on each upper end of the stadium.

WHAT CAN PEOPLE SEE AT THE VENUE?

People can catch many exciting sports and entertainment events at the American Airlines Center. The Mavericks and Stars play at the arena from October to April and potentially longer if they can make the playoffs. The arena also hosts assorted college basketball events, combat sports events, and professional wrestling shows throughout the year.

The venue can fit up to 21,000 people for concerts. The venue has hosted various iconic acts like the Eagles, Garth Brooks, Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Billy Joel, Elton John, and Beyonce.

ENJOY A GOOD MEAL BEFORE THE GAME

The American Airlines Center also features various restaurants where you can get something to eat before a game or show. The Jack Daniels Old No. 7 Club and Gentleman Jack Lounge are both open before games. There are also a few high-end restaurants open to select ticketholders in the arena’s Platinum Level, including the Lexus Platinum Club and Chef’s Corner.

You’ve got plenty of other concessions to explore while at the American Airlines Center. The venue sells Eisenberg hot dogs, Pizza Hut pizzas, street tacos, Texas-style cheesesteak, and more. There’s also a bar in the arena dedicated to beers brewed in Texas. The bar offers a rotating list of beers from brewers like St. Arnold’s, Franconia, and Ziegenbock.
